14. Rattenberg

We also stopped at Rattenberg en route back to Kitzbuhel. Rattenberg is a very small city, known for its glassmaking, which means pretty much every single building is a glass store. We collect glass on most of our trips, but we had already lost several fingers to the cold of Kufstein, and figured we wouldn't be able to handle any glass without breaking it, so we passed. There's an interesting story about the picture with the bridge over a well, but I don't remember so you'll have to go there yourself. Oh, and I read recently that the EU is planning on putting huge mirrors on the mountain above the town, because the mountain blocks the sun and during winter, no sun ever comes to the town. The mirror will probably end up frying the glassmakers, but it will make the pictures look less gloomy.
