Had dinner at the trendy Gusto restaurant. The restaurant is just a small part of the whole Gusto food complex, which includes two outdoor cafes, a bar and a big store selling housewares and gourmet food, all located in the frightening Piazza Augusto Imperatore. The piazza was built by Mussolini in high fascist style, a squat, severe grey set of menacing buildings. So Gusto does a great job of lightening up this very un-Roman part of town. Service is harried, food is an odd combination of Italian and Asian that works about two thirds of the time, but it's worth going just for the vibe alone. Food-12, Decor-15, Service-13.
