Churches were naturally part of the Renaissance makeover of Quirinale, and Sant Andrea was probably the most famous of the bunch. The church was built by Rome's most famous Renaissance architect, Bernini, and is considered a masterpiece of the style. It's classically elegant but sumptuously ornate at the same time. It's also only barely religious, and looksmore like a ballroom than a church. But this being Sunday the church was in use so we could only take a quick look around.
