After all that history, we decided to have dinner at a trendy Italian restaurant (I should probably drop off the Italian adjective, since virtually every restaurant in Italy serves Italian food). It was a beautiful evening so we ate outdoors in the small piazza in front of the restaurant. Service was very friendly, food was very ordinary, and the crowd was very untrendy. We splurged on a bottle of Gaja, Italy's most expensive winemaker, but even that disappointed. (Food-10, Decor-12, Service-14).
