We left Bangkok on May 21 for a multi-purpose trip, the highlight of which, of course, was our wedding in Vermont. We flew on Singapore Airlines, probably our favorite airline, Bangkok-Singapore-Amsterdam-Newark, gave us plenty of time to catch up on the latest movies. We also got five meals on the trip, so I lost my pre-wedding figure on just one flight. The fun times ground to a halt at the Newark Airport, where for some reason Somchai was hauled into a special immigration room for a couple of hours. As time dragged on, I was reasonably certain he was getting thrown out of the country, which would be a bummer since we had people flying in from all over the world to attend our wedding. But he eventually emerged and we headed into Manhattan.
