90. Deerfield, Massachusetts

Well, I can finally move the focus back to me as we depart upstate New York and head to our wedding in Vermont. We headed there in a distinctly odd way for reasons I can no longer remember. I think we took a train downstate, then picked up a car and drove back north again, which is wildly inefficient. En route, we stopped for lunch at historic Deerfield, Massachusetts. Deerfield is the home of Deerfield Academy, one of America's oldest and most prestigious prep schools. It's also chock full of colonial era homes and public buildings, many of which are now maintained as museums. There's a lot of Americana to take in, but we were only here for a quick refueling, and had a nice outdoor lunch at the Deerfield Inn, before continuing our drive north.
